Maximus is a consulting firm that helps federal, state, and local governments improve their education, service delivery, education, and public health policies and programs.
Established after the passage of the Federal Affordable Care Act, the California Health Benefit Exchange, known as Covered California, is charged with providing insurance to millions of California’s citizens. In 2012, Covered California turned to Maximus to implement a new software system for the Health Benefit Exchange. The implementation required designing, developing, and delivering training that would be used to certify their staff as plan-based enrollers under the Affordable Care Act. Maximus, in turn, partnered with Aptara to develop the training and deliver it to California State workers.
Aptara’s learning professionals stepped in to develop a successful year-long blended training program that included instructor-led training and eLearning. From its extensive network of learning professionals, Aptara quickly assembled a dedicated team of trainers with healthcare industry backgrounds, nine instructional designers expert in Captivate, and a certified project manager. Each had between 10 and 15 years’ training industry experience; many were hired within just days of the request.
Maximus was able to quickly scale-up their team with the right resources to successfully deliver the training it had been contracted to do, on time and on budget, for the State of California’s Health Benefits Exchange.
