  • Russell Ramesh

    Senior Vice President – Digital Learning

    Russell is a pioneer in digital learning and an educational technology strategist with expertise in instructional and learning design, and ground-up development of digital learning products. Before joining Aptara, he held key management roles at R.R. Donnelley & Sons and Hurix Systems and possesses more than a decade of experience in business leadership. Russell heads Aptara’s Digital Learning Group and is responsible for the conceptualization and development of next-generation digital learning products—adaptive courseware, immersive eBooks, virtual learning labs, animations, interactive simulations, and game-based learning. Russell has been on the executive and steering committees of leading digital publishing and educational technology forums, including the International Digital Publishing Forum, IMS Global, and EdNET. He is a member of NADP and the Maryland India Business Roundtable.

  • Jackie Lissy Brustein

    Executive Director- Content Research, Rights & Clearances

    Jackie brings to Aptara 15 years of media research and intellectual property licensing, rights, and clearance experience. Previously, she was the Head of Research for Getty Images. During her seven-year tenure with QBS Learning, she was instrumental to the explosive growth of its media Research, Rights & Clearance department. It was at QBS that she pioneered the use of global image and text service contracts with major educational publishers.

  • Maria Bartoszewicki

    Senior Director- Digital

    Maria’s background in educational publishing, eLearning, and digital technology informs her work with interactive, omnichannel eBook design and development at Aptara. She assembled the company’s team of 250 interactive eBook specialists, including Content Architects, Instructional and UI Designers, and CSS and HTML5 experts—a team that has made Aptara a dominant force in eBook production. Her unique workflow solutions and scalable production models for Aptara’s clients have yielded more than 1,300 digital textbooks for various web browsers, the iPad, and other mobile devices.

  • Raman Arora

    Senior Director – EdTech & Learning

    Raman is a seasoned professional with more than 16 years of well-rounded experience in Technology, Solutioning, Delivery Management, Program/Project Management, and Customer Relationship Management. He is known for bringing to the fore technology-led solutions, outstanding situational intelligence, and analytical skills paired with strategic thinking. Over the years, he has successfully been able to lead the global workforce, overseen the design and development of several marquee digital learning programs for Aptara’s distinguished clientele spanning Education, Publishing, and Enterprise domains.

  • Rachel McCall

    Vice President – Content Development

    Rachel manages all editorial content development for Aptara’s Boston-based Content Development Group. Before joining the Publishing Group at Aptara, Rachel spent much of her nearly 20 years in educational publishing at the University of Chicago’s Center for Elementary Math and Science Education, including 8 years as Associate Director of Development for Everyday Mathematics and 13 years leading the authorship team for First Grade Everyday Mathematics. She started her publishing career at Pearson Education working with the math and science editorial teams, following several years teaching elementary school. Rachel holds a B.S. with a double major in Mathematics and Early Childhood Education from Vanderbilt University and an M.Ed. in Reading and Learning Disabilities from DePaul University.

  • Lynn Johnson

    Senior Vice President – Publishing Services

    Lynn oversees Aptara’s Boston-based Publishing Group providing leadership to our content, creative and project management teams. Lynn has over 20 years of experience in educational publishing, including senior leadership roles on the publisher side at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as well as on the vendor side. Throughout her career, Lynn has been responsible for driving organizational change, spearheading digital publishing and content transformation initiatives, and championing process improvements while delivering quality and achieving financial targets. Lynn holds a B. A. with Honors from Macalester College, with Advanced Coursework at Northwestern University.
